What’s Happening at Geelong Photography

Bronson Macklinshaw – Man from Snowy River 2015

I was chatting with another photographer on Saturday morning.  He had his list of riders out and had put an asterisk beside those he was watching.  I told him that my money was on either Bronson Macklinshaw or David Mitchell.  Neither rider had rated on this other fellows sheet and he told me I was only a wedding photographer and had no idea.   I wish I had put $50.00 on it because in the final wash up both Bronson a

In early April I had the privilege of photographing the Australian Bush Poetry Championships in Corryong.  Year 7 student Caitlan Klippel wrote a moving piece about a young ANZAC in WWI.   For her efforts she was crowned the Yr 7 – 12 written champion and the Yr 7-12 Performance Champion.  She also earned the Spirit of Mateship Performance award and the Frank Daniel encouragement award.  Congratulations Caitlan

A very dirty session with a busy young man

This session had been in the pipeline for quite some time. We needed a great mud puddle and a day warm enough that Rhys wouldn’t get cold. The weather stars aligned a couple of weeks ago and a perfect hole was just waiting for the addition of a barrow full of water. We all had a fantastic time. Because of Rhys’s boundless energy and fun, most of the images were completely spontaneous–that’s wh

Geelong first birthday and cake smash photos with Curtis

This gorgeous little man has certainly grown up since we first took his photo at just 9 weeks of age.   Mum and dad bought him in a week before his first birthday for what would turn out to be a cake smash session with more fun and mess than we could have imagined!  We started out with some nice smiley photos – the bubbles were a big hit even if he couldn’t quite catch one.       When we sh

Dads and their daughters

You’ve dreamed about it your whole life, and so has he – that moment when it’s time for him to walk you down the aisle,  join your hands with the person of your dreams, start new adventures and share your new life together.  We love these photos of adoring fathers just beaming over their little girls – it is one of our favourite parts of the wedding day.

Cockatoo

He visits every day.  Usually around 4pm. He lands on the cherry tree and calls for his dinner.  If he thinks we’re taking too long, he will sometimes fly up onto the roof of the house next door and look in through our kitchen window.    He waits patiently while we fill his bowls and he is happy for us to watch as he slowly picks his favourite seeds.  Then he leaves.  I wonder why he is always alone.  He should
